OUR INITIATIVES

The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation is passionate about supporting our police department and contributing to its vital programs and acquisitions. In turn, this support leads to a safer community, flourishing neighborhoods, and thriving community organizations. By fundraising and supporting our law enforcement officers, we are able to create a better department as a whole through advanced technology, supplemental courses for officers, and – of course – brave and talented dogs for our K-9 unit. Our motivation is and always has been focused on the safety and well-being of our community. Below are some of our current and past initiatives:

K-9 Department

The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation has helped train, house, and feed the brave dogs within the K-9 unit. Additionally, we have equipped the talented canines with bullet-proof vests to ensure their safety in the line of duty.

Gang Prevention

This program provides support and services for younger youth who are actively involve din gangs to push them away from gangs, offering them a hopeful future.

Santa's Village

In an act of holiday cheer and giving, the Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation donated $10,000.00 to Santa’s Village, which was put on by Bringing Broken Neighborhoods Back to Life, the LULU Foundation, and the Fresno Police Department’s Neighborhood Watch Association. Those who visited Santa’s Village were given a meal for the whole family and each child was given an individual gift.

Christmas Shop with a Cop

Officers took wish lists, shopped for kids and then hand-delivered them to kids in local shelters. The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation helped provide necessary funds for this event to take place.

Memorial Plaques

The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation aided in funding the installation of custom black quartz memorial displays made for each of the policing stations, the headquarters, and the annex – with the names of all of our fallen officers, dating all the way back to 1907. We feel this is an important way to honor and memorialize those we have lost.

Criminology Student Scholarships

In order to make sure the most passionate and driven students have access to a degree in criminology, we provide scholarships to those who need them most.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving Trailer

The trailer carries a vehicle that belonged to 20-year-old Casey Goodwin, who was killed on her way home by a drunk driver. Goodwin had been the organizer of sober-graduation programs at Exeter Union High School. This impactful trailer exists to prevent drinking and driving and to educate on the risks of operating vehicles under the influence.

City Center

The City Center Future Leaders Lounge

Spearheaded by the Fresno Mission, the City Center is hoped to become the largest family shelter for people experiencing homelessness in central California. The Fresno Police Chief’s Foundation donated $5,000 to Leadership Fresno’s Class 37 for the Future Leaders Lounge at the City Center.
